Close up of plants in "old" bowl

Since last years show some of the Sempervivums had overgrown the space. I've removed more than 20 rosettes, mainly from in front of the Crassulas where I have now put some Sedums. The rock is tufa - the only plant that seems to be suffering from growing in it is Crassula sarcocaulis.

The "new"  bowl

As I've no room in the heated greenhouse for another bowl I have made another using plants I thought might survive (apart from the Portulacaria all seems well). For this bowl I've tried to make sure the Sempervivums used a varieties that produce small rosettes. The pieces of tufa are thinner in this bowl to make it easier for the plants to get their roots into the soil (I drill holes before planting, but try and make the hole as small as possible so that it appears that the plant is growing in the rock)
